The DOHC engine would be better at higher revs. But can your auto tranny take it?

If yours wasn't a 1.8, but a 1.6 instead... then I'd ask u to put in a V6 engine (mitsu's 6A10... 1.6 V6)... coz' V6 engine's ride is damn smooth. But then no point downgrading your displacement lar... coz' u might end up with less power anyway.

Hi, mines a Satria 95' fitted with a 4G93 DOHC. Fits like a glove........Power is OK though. Not much headache. Its a good choice...i think. But for the price of the half-cut you can most probably get a VR4 but much more reliable.....anyhow its up to you to decide if its power or reliabilty that you want. Cheers! :)

there's no difference in reliability of the 4G93 and 4G63T if you're planning to get halfcuts, they are both used and more than 10 years old. Either way you're encouraged to do a proper overhaul for any engine conversion.

I was previously using an auto 1.8 sohc and I've also tried driving an auto 1.8 dohc on another proton. Can't tell the difference. They're both underpowered in terms of pickup and high on fuel consumption. The auto changes gears at 3000-4000+ rpm so any power difference is hard to differenciate.

To really have a difference in power you can consider either a 4G93T or 4G63T. Since you already have a 4G93P, it would be easier to convert to the 93T with minimal changes ie. ecu rechip, 4G93T engine kosong, intercooler & piping. You don't need to re-wire the engine.

V6 is really a good engine but bare in mind the maintainance will be damm higheven the service charges when u wanna service your car the labour will be higher then your lubricant :D if really wanna go v6 use the mivec 2.0 v6 remember ETERNA halfcut not FTO. that 1 with auto also damm powerful
